Sadie called coven member Isla Sinclair home from an out-of-state vacation to assist her and Will in the expulsion of shadow entity from Sybil's body. During the ritual, which was held in Better Living Through Coffee's cellar, another coven member was startled, stepped out of a charged and protected circle and was killed. Meanwhile, Erin was nosing around for more information on the coven. She snuck down the cellar stairs upon sensing a center of power and was able to stand in for the fallen witch before anyone else was harmed. The ritual was successful.

Crystal Springs Sawmill declined to comment on the incident.

An evening prayer under the new moon brought Erin face to face with a shadow-possessed Jason in the forest. An attack on her failed, thanks to her protective prayer circle, but the shadows taught her a lesson anyhow, ending Jason's struggle in a manner most gruesome before her. She retreated back into town, where Saleh and Arik checked in on her at Turning Leaf Herbal. Careful conversation revealed connections between the way Jason died and the way his co-worker, Andy, died the month prior, including shared last words.

Will arranged for shadow-possessed Sybil to meet with coven leader Sadie, who asked her back behind the closed doors of Better Living Through Coffee under the guise of trying a new blend, only to knock her over the head with a rolling pin. Meanwhile, gruff newcomer J. Isaac Gale wandered up from the marina to make his first appearance in town, Erin accomplished a goal in discovering where the local coven is loosely headquartered and Arik revealed to her that he was able to trap a small piece of the shadow terrorizing Nowhere Island in an enchanted jar.

Saleh was attacked in Nowhere Square after dark. She sought refuge from the attack at Turning Leaf Herbal, which she knew from the previous evening had been recently cleansed and protected by ritual. Arik was also present, curious as to Erin's progress in setting up shop. All three witnessed the movement and hiss of shadows outside. The shadows were unable to cross the shop's threshold. Saleh blamed a raccoon for her minor injury. Neither Arik nor Erin believed her. The trio holed up in Erin's shop for the night, and aside from a little snoring on Arik's behalf, more worry than sleep was had.

IC stuff: common knowledge shared by word-of-mouth, advertising

Half-fae herbalist Erin Alistair was seen moving boxes into retail space in Nowhere Square with the help of pard member Ash Kenzington. The Middle Of bar and inn manager Saleh Roethke poked her head in to welcome her new neighbor. Wanderer-through Arik Bergman did likewise. Introductions were made, and at Saleh's encouraging, Erin cleansed and warded her shop that night.

Sybil went to local watering hole the Middle Of to seek out a member of the local coven, hoping to figure out who to talk to about her shadow infestation. She ran into Will, coven member and one of the three men involved in the accident that occurred near the sawmill on St. Patrick's Day, who has been spending a lot of time in the bottom of a pint glass ever since. After some suspicious button-pushing, instead of admitting to too much of his own experience with the shadows, he referred her to coven leader Sadie... with a grave prediction as to her expected lifespan.

ASSAULT AT BETTER LIVING THROUGH COFFEE

Kitsap County Sheriffs responded to a non-emergency call from a Better Living Through Coffee customer in the late morning on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2016. The customer's report detailed an incident involving Nowhere Island resident Will Byrne and a physical assault on the coffee shop's new barista, Harper Lennox.

Other witnesses suggested that intervention by local physician Leslie McAlister, MD and Crystal Springs Sawmill office manager Sabin Keller may have prevented further escalation. One noted that Byrne "seemed fixated on the way light moved around the shop." Another noted that she overheard him telling Keller "they followed us; they're here; they're in town" in what seemed like a paranoid hush as she forced him out the front door.

Lennox was not on scene when the authorities arrived. She sustained a minor injury to the head, which was discovered during a subsequent welfare check on her and finding her otherwise unharmed, at home. The injury explained a small pool of blood found on the floor behind the shop's counter.

Byrne was one of three men involved in the accident near Crystal Springs Sawmill on St. Patrick's Day. There is now growing concern that he and the other man who survived, Jason Carey, could be mentally unstable as a result of their recent trauma and dangers to themselves and the public.

TWO MILLWORKERS INJURED, ONE DEAD IN CRYSTAL SPRINGS

Witnesses report seeing three Crystal Springs Sawmill workers come stumbling out of the forest surrounding the mill shortly after sunset on Thursday, March 17, 2016. They were identified as Andy Wiley, 41; Will Byrne, 28; and Jason Carey, 35. All had sustained injuries superficial and serious. Byrne and Carey, who refused questions, were treated in town and released. Wiley was heard screaming the phrase "Keep to the light!" repeatedly, and to anyone who would listen, before losing consciousness. He died en route to Harrison Medical Center in Silverdale.

None could offer any explanation as to what happened. Crystal Springs Sawmill released a general statement asking for the respect of their employees' privacy following "'tragic work related injury and loss of life." The local lumber giant also expressed their deepest condolences to Wiley's family, hailing him as a dedicated, hard-working family man and friend to many of his co-workers.
