occupation: Marguerite's Furniture; delivery story: Since leaving his place of origin in Svalbard, Norway, Arik was a sedulous and solitary scholar of the arcane arts. The large, solidly built male didn't appear the scholarly type, especially with his scars and rough exterior, but nonetheless he was serious about honing his skill in magic. His studies, and some odd jobs when needed, took him through northern Europe, Russia, and Canada, and though he spent most of his time in unpopulated wilderness, he'd also learned much from his ventures into normal human societies, which were significantly different from the remote and clandestine wizardry academy where he'd been born. In this case, different had also been difficult, as Arik was not entirely human. If he was mindful, he could pass for human, despite being a quarter orcish blood--a strong quarter that had taken deep. Under the academy was a Gate to the faerie realm, from which the wizards could summon Other creatures, orcs included. Despite having less than ideal results during his travels when attempting to integrate into civilized communities, Arik was still interested, not an easily discouraged type. It was a preternatural sense of Others that had eventually drawn him down to Nowhere, a rare mix of curious magical energies--even though some of those energies were darkly foreboding. face claim: Manu Bennett aol/aim sn: welkin auspice (welkinauspice)
