story: Charlie Greenman was a dabbler in the mystic arts for the majority of his adult-hood. By no means was he an extraordinary talent, but he had enough ability to get by for some time with his magical practices. When he was 23 he took a leap, using ancient bindings to capture a shadow-entity and trap it beneath his will. He utilized the power and energy of the trapped creature and increased his own abilities tenfold in shadow-magic, but within a few years the being broke the bindings and ensnared Charlie's soul, devouring it in darkness for all eternity. Now the creature that was enslaved possesses the fleshy body, using it as a conduit to keep itself alive in the world of the living. He continues to grow its power by devouring the souls of the innocent and wicked alike, adding to its tally with each one added to its collection.
